We are delighted to be able to offer a very special Sam Toft original for sale.
Sam produced this stunning original especially for a MacMillan charity auction - Canvas for the Mac.
It sold at auction and has already raised thousands of pounds for charity.
Through a remarkable act of benevolence we have been asked to resell the original with 10% of the sale to be donated to the Gallery’s PAPYRUS charity appeal.
This is a mixed media original, created using oil pastel, ink, and sgraffito on board.
Sam chose the framing herself - a beautiful dark wood frame with a gold coloured fillet, glazed using Ultra Vue, a virtually invisible Art Glass offering 70% UV protection.
The painting can only be shipped within the UK mainland via road freight - sadly we can’t ship glazed art overseas.
Did you know that Sam produced a remarque edition of this picture for our fundraiser for charity PAPYRUS - we managed to raise more than £3000. Thank you Sam and to everyone who donated! Take a look at our JustGiving page.
Each year we choose a charity to support, and with the help of our amazing artists and customers, we try to do our bit to try to make a difference for others.
For the next year, our chosen charity is PAPYRUS, a charity focused on the Prevention of Young Suicide. This charity has a special significance for us, as we lost Jake Braithwaite, son of Anne and Mark, the gallery owners, to suicide in 2018, aged just 20.
PAPYRUS tells us: "Suicide is the biggest killer of young people under 35 in the UK. We believe many young suicides can be prevented. Through fundraising you are raising vital awareness of PAPYRUS and spreading our message of hope."
