The Braithwaite Gallery was founded in York city centre in 2000 by husband and wife team Mark and Anne Braithwaite.
Mark Braithwaite is our original York Artist. Mark is well known for painting views of our beautiful city, and can often be found painting on location in York.
We work with many talented artists with a diverse range of styles and subjects, and hope to have something to suit all tastes!

My wife & I were in York celebrating 35 years of marriage We knew Braithwaite Gallery so we popped in. The pictures we brought just fitted how we saw ourselves . In the Countryside with our dog, being happy in the moments that you get with nature. Its all we need. It helped seal some more good memories of our visit to York. I thanked the staff for their help, suggestions, their knowledge improved our experience. I hope others find what makes them happy.
Id purchased my first art piece in person last Christmas, and had recently entered the store and gotten stuck between two works. In the end, I ordered both online through the store. They were dispatched promptly and arrived super fast, really well packaged. No faults, I'd have one of everything if I could afford it.

I think this is a wonderful charity and congratulations to Braithwaites for putting this charity in the spotlight. I’ve had a friend take his life a few weeks ago and that brings this charity to the forefront for me. Braithwaites have been brilliant raising funds to help this charity ,and continue to support it every year, well done to you all.
This is actually such a lovely picture - multiple people have given compliments on it! I picked up a gold frame and it was so lovely - made it look really charming, old and romantic. Can’t recommend it enough! Really beautiful souvenir!
