Richard Tuff has a degree in Textile Design from Winchester College of Art. Since graduating he has sold design work to many companies worldwide. After spending some time painting in Cornwall, he decided to move there permanently to focus in his art.
His work has a unique almost childlike charm, with rich strong colours and subtle changes of light and tone. He captures the essence and feeling of the Cornish harbours and towns he paints by carefully studying the subject matter, often disregarding the natural order of things, to produce a jewel-like result.
We recently had to move a huge plan chest - one of the drawers in the chest has been stuck for about 20 years.... We were really excited to rediscover some old favourites which had been trapped in the drawer since they arrived from the publisher!
