Perched on spindly stilts above the sand, these crooked little homes cling to the edge of the pier like they’ve weathered a thousand tides. Below, a lone rowing boat rests quietly on the shore, as if holding everything steady. Who lives here is anyone’s guess, but they’ve surely got salt in their veins and courage in their hearts
This quirky piece has been created by Artist Gary Walton in support of PAPYRUS, a charity focused on the prevention of young suicide, with all proceeds from the sale of the artwork helping save young lives.
Continuing with his immense generosity, Gary has kindly sent us a whole collection of mixed media original paintings for us to sell as a part of our ongoing charity fundraising in aid of PAPYRUS, in memory of Jake, son of gallery owners Anne and Mark - lost to suicide aged just 20.
Gary’s 'Pierfolk' painting has an image size 200 x 110mm; and is presented in a deep off white mount with decorative v-groove detail, outer mount dimensions approximately 410 x 310mm.
This miniature size has been painted especially for the gallery - Gary doesn’t usually work in this scale - so we had no idea what to charge. Gary’s instruction was to do our best for the charity!
Instantly recognisable as Gary’s distinctive quirky style, this is a delightful painting with a charm of its own. All funds raised from the sale of this artwork will be donated to PAPYRUS via our JustGiving page.
Huge thanks to Artist Gary Walton and publisher CD Fine Art for their support of our charity work.
