Looking at Silence by Peter Brook, RBA 1927-2009
Peter was known as 'The Pennine Landscape painter.' He included himself and his dog in many of his images.
His subjects are delightful in their simplicity and innocence and in this monochrome image the lone figure of a man and his faithful dog stand on a snowy hillside by a dry stone wall. There is a wonderful calmness to the image and a feeling of quiet companionship.
