This landscape limited edition mounted print by traditional watercolourist John Sibson, features an idyllic scene of Lastingham, a small historic village, near the North Yorkshire Moors. Lastingham has been welcoming pilgrims and visitors for hundreds of years nested on the edge of Spaunton Moor.
About the artist
I am a figurative a painter working from my studio in Appleby in Cumbria.
I also publish my own giclee reproductions.
I became better known for watercolours but as result of summer school at the Slade in London I have now enjoyed developing a distinctive style in oils and acrylics. This has also made me enjoy much more “plein air” painting.
Over many years I have had a multitude of one man and shared exhibitions in galleries, mostly in the North of England, but also in Scotland and as far afield as Spain and New Zealand.
In the past I have exhibited in the Mall galleries in London in the Royal Society of Marine Artists Open exhibitions and in the Houses of Parliament and more recently I have had regular success in having work accepted for, and been a prizewinner in the Cumbria Open Artists exhibitions.
I have no great philosophical “artspeak” about my paintings – I just paint what I see and how I see it, and let the paintings speak for themselves.
