Bluebird at Bonneville
by Jack Vettriano
Open Edition poster print
Paper size: 500x700mm
Bluebird is one of a series of paintings inspired by the life and achievements of Sir Malcolm Campbell, who gained the world land speed record at various times during the 1920’s and 1930’s.
The paintings were originally commissioned by Sir Terence Conran for his Bluebird Club in London.
In August 2007, Bluebird at Bonneville, was sold at Sotheby’s for in excess of £600,000, the second highest price ever achieved for a Vettriano at auction.
This picture features the iconic Bluebird car on the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah, on the occasion of Malcolm Campbell’s final World Land Speed record in 1935.
Bluebird makes a fabulous pair with Jack's Pendine Beach print.
